Click the upper Browse... button to select your DivX file you would like to convert.
Browse for the necessary DivX file in the opened Windows Explorer Window. Click Open button next to the filename of the Windows Explorer Window to load DivX extension file to DivX to ASF Converter shareware. Make sure before clicking you have selected a DivX file you want to convert.
You may also click + button or use drag-and-drop to add multiple DivX files.

DivX (Digital Video Express), being XviD spelled backwards, is a brand name of products created by DivX, Inc. (formerly DivXNetworks, Inc.), including the DivX Codec which has become popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality. The DivX codec uses lossy MPEG-4 compression, where quality is balanced against file size for utility. It is one of several codecs commonly associated with "ripping", whereby audio and video multimedia are transferred to a hard disk and transcoded. Many newer "DivX Certified" DVD players are able to play DivX encoded streaming video, although the Qpel and global motion compensation features are often omitted to reduce processing requirements. They are also excluded from the base DivX encoding profiles for compatibility reasons.

Click MORE button and select the list TO ASF placed along on the top of the interface. It means you want to convert DivX files you have selected to ASF formats.

Click the drop-down list next to ASF profile, you can select a preset profile for the output Advanced Streaming Format file.
Click Edit... button to set more details, if you want to customize the parameters of your selected profile.

ASF stands for Advanced Streaming Format. ASF is a highly compressed file format that contains streaming video, audio like WMV. When an ASF file is played back, content is delivered to you as a continuous flow of data. You no longer have to wait for the whole video and audio file to fully download before you start to view them. So, this file format is specially designed to run on networks. When an AVI file is compressed and converted to an .asf file, the file begins playing after only a few seconds. ASF files can be played back with the Windows Media Player (provided the appropriate codec installed), streamed with Windows Media Services or optionally packaged with Windows Media Rights Manager.
