Click the upper Browse... button to select your DivX file you would like to convert.
Browse for the necessary DivX file in the opened Windows Explorer Window. Click Open button next to the filename of the Windows Explorer Window to load DivX extension file to DivX to AVI Converter shareware. Make sure before clicking you have selected a DivX file you want to convert.

DivX (Digital Video Express), being XviD spelled backwards, is a brand name of products created by DivX, Inc. (formerly DivXNetworks, Inc.), including the DivX Codec which has become popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality. The DivX codec uses lossy MPEG-4 compression, where quality is balanced against file size for utility. It is one of several codecs commonly associated with "ripping", whereby audio and video multimedia are transferred to a hard disk and transcoded. Many newer "DivX Certified" DVD players are able to play DivX encoded streaming video, although the Qpel and global motion compensation features are often omitted to reduce processing requirements. They are also excluded from the base DivX encoding profiles for compatibility reasons.

Click TO AVI button placed along on the top of the interface. It means you want to convert DivX files you have selected to AVI formats.

Click the drop-down list next to AVI profile, you can select a preset profile for the output AVI file, such as DivX codec, XviD codec, MPEG4 codec, H.264/AVC codec.
Click Edit... button to set more details, if you want to customize the parameters of your selected profile.

Audio Video Interleave file, known by its acronym AVI and developed by Microsoft. AVI files can contain both audio and video data in a file container that allows synchronous audio-with-video playback. An AVI file can use different codec and formats so there is no set format for an AVI file unlike for example standard VCD video which sets a standard for resolution, bitrates, and codecs used. Most commonly used video codecs that use AVI structure are MPEG4 codec, XviD codec, H.264/AVC codec and DivX codec.
