Click the upper Browse... button to select your DivX file you would like to convert.
Browse for the necessary DivX file in the opened Windows Explorer Window. Click Open button next to the filename of the Windows Explorer Window to load DivX extension file to DivX to MPEG Converter shareware. Make sure before clicking you have selected a DivX file you want to convert.
You may also click + button or use drag-and-drop to add multiple DivX files.

DivX (Digital Video Express), being XviD spelled backwards, is a brand name of products created by DivX, Inc. (formerly DivXNetworks, Inc.), including the DivX Codec which has become popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality. The DivX codec uses lossy MPEG-4 compression, where quality is balanced against file size for utility. It is one of several codecs commonly associated with "ripping", whereby audio and video multimedia are transferred to a hard disk and transcoded. Many newer "DivX Certified" DVD players are able to play DivX encoded streaming video, although the Qpel and global motion compensation features are often omitted to reduce processing requirements. They are also excluded from the base DivX encoding profiles for compatibility reasons.

Click TO MPEG button placed along on the top of the interface. It means you want to convert DivX files you have selected to MPEG formats.

Click the drop-down list next to MPEG profile, you can select a preset profile for the output MPEG file. And the MPEG1, MPEG2 codec may be used on VCD and DVD discs respectively.
Click Edit... button to set more details, if you want to customize the parameters of your selected profile.

MPEG stands for Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4), one of the compression formats, in charge of the development of standards for coded representation of digital audio and video, supported by DVD, VCD, Epson for entertainment. There are several audio/video formats which bear this group's name, such as compression formats - MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4.
